Lightweight but heavy duty Dehydrator!
3 of 3 found this helpful I'd been looking for a second dehydrator. After a meticulous search, I knew I preferred a square stackable dehydrator instead of the round ones; that part was easy. Next, I decided on the price, performance, features that were reliable and easy to cleanup. With so many brand names and unbranded dehydrators to choose from, I felt overwhelmed and back to square one. In the end, I chose this compact work horse of a beauty! It dehydrated rice, all my fruits, potatoes, mushrooms, onions and meats (fish, chicken, beef and turkey) so far. And everything has been successful and tasty!! The temperature settings for food groups are quite accurate. Turn the unit on, set the temperature and use a kitchen alarm timer. It was just that simple. The only con for some buyers may be the absence of a count down timer. It wasn't a big deal for me. I love not having to dehydrate in increments of 10 hrs like many others priced around $100. Excalibur ECB50B is a valuable addition in my kitchen. Affordable, lightweight and a heavy duty performer!

I'm using the air pump to make compost tea. Wish I had it sooner...it's a work hog!
