At 12 yo I took scrap fabrics left overs from alterations that my parents made in their store that was just off Second Avenue in NYC. I made doll clothes and sold them on a carboard box outside in the front. My most expensive item sold for 25 cents. I had always wanted to have my own store.
Life took me on a long journey, worked in several industries, became a nurse in my 50s. I have now retired, and like most need to subsidize my income.
Never would have dreamed that I would be able to do that and fulfill a wish.
