Welcome to Park Antiques and Collectibles. Our focus is offering high quality antiques, arts, and collectibles from the U.S. and Asia. Most of the antiques come from a Asian Arts and Antiques business my parents owned for 30 years. They have retired and we are now making these available for sale.
If you are new to Korean antiques, there are couple things you should know when collecting and buying Korean antiques. Here are couple of useful tips.
Generally Korean paintings dating back to 1800 or earlier did not contain artist signature unless person who painted is notable, noble, scholar or reputable at the time.
This is most common when dealing in Korean MinHwa (Folk) paintings since most of these were often painted by an anonymous painters.
Most Korean or almost all of Korean porcelains dating back to Joseon dynasty or some cases pre Korean war did not have any markings or signatures. You usually find markings or signatures on porcelains from anything made post Korean war.
