I began reading comics in the early 60s. I remember, one summer, finding & reading a copy of Amazing Spider-Man #4 from a stack my cousins had! I soon was a voracious consumer, reading whatever comic wherever I'd find it! One place was a barbershop we visited regularly! Though I really disliked getting my hair cut, I liked going there because it was a place I also got to read comics while Dad got his trim. I especially recall a selection of Fantasy Masterpieces they had there! Those reads were my 1st exposure to Captain America, the Human Torch & their Golden Age origins. Before long I'd become an avid collector. Amazing Spider-Man #44 was one of the first comics I ever bought off the newsstand! Over the years, I'd buy new comics & find old back issues at flea markets, yard sales, or comic shops, piecing together a near-complete collection of all Marvel superhero titles published throughout the Silver Age! In 1974 I sold collection to buy a '69 Shelby GT500! Zoom! Still collecting!
