About us
Howard Enterprises was established in 1982. We build alternators for automotive, racing, boating and tractors. Our specialty is GM Style 1 wire alternators for 6 volt, 12 volt and 16 volt applications. We also build a line of 140 amp to 200 amp GM style alternators. My son and I have over 43 combined years of experience building alternators.

I followed the wiring instructions provided and the original amp gauge works correctly. I did add a volt meter. Upon start up the alternator engages immediately with 7.5 volts and the amp gauge returns to the center in about 30 seconds. On a 1948 Chevy pick up 6 volt negative ground. Excellent upgrade! I do recommend.
