There was evidence that good effort was put in to clean it. There were some specks of rust on the metal exterior of the connector from age and use, but I scrubbed it off fine with some isopropyl. I tested the controls and gyro on a homebrew controller tester, and it all functions as it should. Given how old these are, I'm very satisfied with what I received.
