About us
Design-Surgery was established in 1999 by Jan Bigg-Wither, a creative pattern cutter and University Lecturer, and is now owned and run by Jan and her husband David.
Pattern cutting, toile, and sample making services are available in our North London Studio.
We have designed, developed, sourced and supplied a new generation of tailors and dressmakers body forms, which reflect today’s body shapes and incorporate a number of useful aids. Our mannequins are used in universities, design studios, and have been chosen by the British Fashion Council for their pattern cutting seminars as well as being the mannequins used by Fashion Scout and Graduate Fashion Week.
Our tried and tested tools and equipment are reliable and value for money. We sell packs to students in collaboration with universities and also have pop-up stores in some universities at the start of the academic year.
