DC Rail and Hobby Depot is a home-based, family owned and operated business. We're not a huge corporation but rather fellow hobbyists that enjoy Model Railroading, producing quality products and passing on great deals to our customers. We are home to Hobby Loads, a full line of freight loads for over 250 gondolas and hoppers in every scale from N to G. We don't use resins, molds, plastic or foam in the making of our products. Our loads are hand-crafted one at a time from real wood and meticulously designed to fit each individual car. Our loads come in a variety of real freight materials from Anthracite Coal to River Rock, and each load is tested repeatedly during the production process to ensure an exact fit, every time. Hobby Loads have been produced by hand for over 20 years and like our motto says: NO TWO LOADS ARE EXACTLY ALIKE! Our craftsmanship, attention to detail and use of real materials are what set us apart and make our products unique.
