Adding a subtitle to your listings

Adding a subtitle to your listing  can increase buyer interest by providing more descriptive information about an item.

How to add a subtitle

Adding a subtitle to your listing:
  1. Go to the listing form. (If you're revising an existing listing, make sure you know about the restrictions on revising listings.)

  2. In the Describe your item section, enter your text in the Subtitle field.

Keep in mind:

  • Not all listing forms offer the ability to add a subtitle.

  • Subtitles are visible when buyers view search results in List view.

  • Subtitle text isn't searchable when buyers do a standard title search for items. However, the subtitle is searchable if a buyer includes the description in an advanced search.

What type of information should I include?

Consider including the following details:

  • Additional information about what you're selling (for example, the brand name, artist, designer, accessories, and options)

  • Words that you think buyers wouldn't necessarily search on, but that may be of interest to them (for example, item condition, benefits, specifications, model number, and any extras)

Examples of subtitles

Title: Apple MacBook Air 13" notebook computer
Subtitle: Intel Core i5, 4 GB Ram, 128 GB HD, Free Software
Title: 1.3 CT Princess Cut Diamond Ring Platinum Set
Subtitle: Tiffany setting, GIA Certified, VS2, E Color
Title: Nikon Coolpix L26 Digital Camera 16.1 megapixels
Subtitle: 26x zoom Nikkor lens, 3-inch LCD
