Created by Western filmmaker Sam Peckinpah (THE WILD BUNCH), THE RIFLEMAN was consistently one of the most popular shows on television during its five-year run (1958-1963) on ABC. Former athlete Chuck Connors stars as Lucas McCain, a widower with a young son. McCain moves to New Mexico in the 1880s, where he struggles with raising his son and running a ranch. But McCain's desire to see justice done cannot be denied, either, and he often finds himself battling outlaws and wrongdoers.
