The Seagate Hawk 2XL 5400 RPM internal hard drive operates a Fast-Wide SCSI interface, which has features of both SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 and is SPI compliant. The 80-pin connector on this Seagate 1.08 GB hard drive is of the SCA-2 form. The Seagate Hawk 2XL features an integrated SCSI controller with reduced complexity code, single-ended drivers and receivers, asynchronous/synchronous data transfer protocols, and 96-bit Reed-Solomon error correction. This Seagate 1.08 GB hard drive is SCAM compliant for automatic assignment of device ID and it is Hot Plug compatible with jumper-enabled onboard terminators. The 512 kB buffer in this internal hard drive is programmable and supports multiple segmentation. Average data transfer rate between the buffer and media for one sector is 7.1 Mbpsand 5.6 Mbpsfor multiple-track single-sector transfers with 1:1 interleave. Typical average seek times for this Seagate 1.08 GB hard drive are 10.4 ms read and 11.4 ms write with a rotational latency of 5.5 ms.
