After being forbidden to watch "Reptar versus the Aliens" by Tommy Pickles' mom, the babies from Rugrats decide to play their own version. Unfortunately, Angelica takes their Reptar doll and throws it in the trash. To make matters worse, that trash gets dumped into the backyard trash before they can retrieve the doll. They must rescue Reptar, but how? Players must guide Tommy, Chuckie, Phil, and Lil through the Pickles' house in a search for items that will help them save Reptar so he can keep the aliens from taking over the Earth. In addition to the main adventure, there are a number of games contained within the program. Playing these helps players attain the adventure goals but also can be played simply for fun. The adventure has three possible paths, from building a monster scary enough to frighten off the garbage truck to getting out into the yard and finding something that will enable players to reach Reptar in the trash. Players must play all three paths (in any order) to succeed. The game offers three difficulty levels: "Not so Tuff" (easy), "Kinda Tuff" (medium), and "Most Tufferest" (hard). The game also has an options screen to allow players to replay games, view movies already seen and "Cry," which puts the babies back in the playpen from wherever they may be. Rugrats Adventure Game focuses on children development skills, such as problem solving, strategy, logical and critical thinking, memory, and computer skills. There are more than 30 puzzles contained in the game rendered in full 3D environments.
