A distinctive feature of this Olympus 7.1 MP camera is its capability to shoot underwater photography when placed in the special Olympus underwater casing. Using this underwater digital camera, the photographer can select Underwater Wide-Angle or Underwater Macro modes, ideal for photographing marine life in their natural habitats. Furthermore, the Olympus 7.1 MP camera offers Macro and Super Macro modes for dry land environments, permitting shooting at distances as close as 3.9 inches and 0.39 inches, respectively. Camera users can increase or decrease the aperture value, from f/2.8 to f/8.0 in normal and macro modes and f/4.5 to f/8.0 for telephoto. The Fine Zoom feature gives the photographer the ability to zoom in up to 27x without reducing image quality.
