Nintendo's famed RPG returns to let gamers explore the vast Kingdom of Hyrule in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The action once again stars the iconic hero Link, who is awakened one day by a mysterious female voice beckoning him to Hyrule. The once bustling kingdom now lies in ruins after being attacked by the evil Calamity Ganon, who has been sealed away inside Hyrule Castle. By exploring expansive fields, dense forests, snow-capped mountains, and ancient shrines players can help Link grow strong enough to defeat Ganon before he escapes and destroys the world.<br><br>Breath of the Wild drops gamers into Hyrule with no weapons and no immediate goals. Early on players acquire the Sheikah Slate, a multi-purpose tool that helps Link locate objectives, unlock doors, and upgrade abilities. Gamers are encouraged to explore and interact with the world in a variety of ways, including hunting and gathering food, climbing trees and cliffs, swimming, hang gliding, and even snowboarding. Along the way they will encounter scores of enemies, plenty of treasure, and more than 100 puzzle-filled Shrines of Trials and Sheikah Towers, which can be explored in any order.<br><br>Link can also sell items to merchants and acquire clothing to fit the various environments he encounters, and in battle he can wield an assortment of melee weapons like swords, spears, and axes, as well as ranged weapons like arrows and bombs.
