You are the rightful heir to Ander's Moon, but someone has conspired to kill your father while framing you. You have a good idea as to who is involved; now you just need to prove it. But, to do that, you'll need some firepower on your side and you only have five years to gather it and collect your proof.<br><br>MechWarrior is a real-time 3D giant robot combat simulation that incorporates some RPG elements, all set in the Battletech board strategy game universe. Starting with a beaten up light mech and a small wad of cash, players must slowly build up a stable of hired mech pilots and purchased mechs while following the clues that lead to the unraveling of the conspiracy. The known universe is composed of many planets, each controlled by one of five great houses. Players may travel to any of these planets and take out mercenary contracts from the ruling house to make some money.<br><br>Between mercenary missions, players can visit local bars for gossip or check out news reports for information. They can also repair or refit mechs, as well as purchase new mechs or hire new pilots if available. Most planets have contract agents waiting to hand out mercenary contracts. These contracts range from simple garrison defenses to more complex multi-mission search and destroy patrols. Players can negotiate on the contract's payoff and percentage of salvage they get, as well as the up front payment before accepting a contract.
