About this product

Product Information

The Konica Minolta Maxxum f3.5-4.5 is a great piece of optical equipment for photographing landscapes or everyday scenes with minimal distortion. With a zoom of 24 to 85 millimeters, it is capable of capturing images sharply even at the periphery of your shots. It’s a full frame lens, which means that it uses an image sensor format that’s identical to the formats used by 35-millimeter film cameras. You can use these Minolta AF lenses with any Minolta auto-focus or film camera that uses an A-mount. These lenses will also work with Sony alpha cameras if you use an A-mount or E-mount adapter to hold it in place. This optical add-on measures 6.8 by 3.6 by 1.9 inches and weighs slightly less than 1 pound, which makes it great for traveling. It's 62 millimeters in diameter, so if you need to purchase a hood for it, you’ll want to look for a hood with a similar diameter. The Maxxum has a viewing angle of 84 degrees and 29 degrees. This viewing angle gives you the flexibility to shoot subjects at a wide range of distances. These Minolta AF lenses work well in both close-ups and in photos with a broad setting. You can shoot photos at all distances without worrying about distortion or chromatic aberrations. Minolta engineered it with two aspherical elements that reduce the chromatic variations found most commonly at wider focal lengths. This full frame lens has a maximum aperture range of 3.5 to 4.5, which allows you to capture a range of different focal lengths as you shoot. This refers to the amount of light the lens will allow into your camera. With this optical add-on, aperture settings change automatically as you zoom into your subject. At any given ISO, you can use a smaller F-stop and a faster shutter speed to attain the results you want. The Minolta Maxxum f3.5-4.5 will give you highly accurate auto-focusing under most normal light conditions. Before you attach your Minolta Maxxum to a camera, remove the rear cap and align the red marker on the mount with the red marker on the Minolta AF lens itself. Insert your Minolta AF lens into the mount and turn it clockwise until you hear a click. Your optical equipment should be securely in place. To remove the lens, hold down on the release mechanism and turn the lens counterclockwise as far as it will go. You should be able to lift it easily out of its mount. Try not to touch the lens glass as fingerprints and dust can impact the quality of your photographs. Clean your Minolta Maxxum with a dry microfiber cloth. The zooming grip is the widest ring on your lens, and it can cover 24 to 85 millimeters. To focus in quickly on a subject while you’re photographing, turn the zooming grip to the minimum focal length you desire. Zoom lenses like the Minolta Maxxum are able to focus from their minimum focal distance to infinity on their own. It isn’t necessary to indicate a macro setting for the focal length.
