Product Information
An interesting first-person space combat game from 20th Century Fox's short-lived video game department, The Earth Dies Screaming assigns players the mission of tracking down and eliminating alien ships orbiting Earth. Using the radar at the top of the screen, players can find plenty of enemies to grapple with, and they come in two forms: highly maneuverable fighters whose laser fire can deplete the player's energy banks, and satellites which, if not blown up in space, will slam into the Earth (also costing the player energy). Energy can be replenished by following the aliens back to their mothership and destroying it. If either the player's ship or the Earth itself runs out of energy, the battle is lost and the Earth dies (screaming, presumably).

The Earth Dies Screaming features a very nice look to its graphics, which manage to convey both the outer space environment and a sense of three-dimensional motion very well while also being bright and colorful. It's an above-average game with a slightly silly, B-movie-worthy title, similar to such uncomplicated space sims as Star Voyager and Starmaster, but with superior graphics.Product Identifiers
