Devilish is a 2D brick-and-paddle game with a twist. Several twists, actually. Instead of the standard one paddle, you get to control two paddles simultaneously. You can move both of them left or right together by pushing on the directional pad in the appropriate direction. You can also make the top paddle move up and down the screen independently of the bottom paddle.<br><br>You have four paddle setups from which to choose. The default setup is a pair of parallel paddles, one on top of the other. At any point in the game, you can switch to the other configurations. Two of these involve turning the top paddle so that it's perpendicular to the bottom paddle, with the top paddle facing either left or right. The fourth setup keeps the top paddle in the same place as in the default setup, but splits the bottom paddle into two, one on either side of the top paddle.<br><br>The object of the game is to guide the ball through a series of levels within the allotted time limits, breaking bricks and destroying enemies on the way to the end of each level. It's not necessary to break all the breaks or destroy all the enemies on your way, however. Occasionally, you will come across bosses that must be destroyed with the ball. You start the game with a fixed number of balls; if you lose them all, the game ends.
