The Altec Lansing ATP3W speakers make an indelible aesthetic impression even before pumping out their first note. Each unit features a semicircular base that houses the downward-firing, 3-inch midrange speaker, while the slim mini-tower contains two tiny 28-millimeter drivers. An on/off switch, a rotary volume dial, a light-emitting diode (LED) power indicator, and treble and bass controls are incorporated into one of the satellites. The Altec Lansing ATP3W comes with two speakers and a subwoofer and features a frequency response of 45-18,000Hz. This sound system has a nominal impedance of 10 Ohm and a signal-to-noise ratio of 70dB. It has a two-way crossover channel and a crossover frequency of 150Hz and comes with an integrated audio amplifier. The unit’s input signal is connected to the amplifier via a 3.5-millimeter stereo connector. The Altec Lansing ATP3W speaker’s power transformer resides inside the box rather than being attached to its AC cord. There is another cable that connects this sound system to the sound card’s line-out jack.
