About this product

Product Information

Based on Ridley Scott's groundbreaking film from 1979, Alien for the Atari VCS is a surprisingly good Pac-Man clone (complete with tunnel exits and background siren sounds) and is easily one of the best movie-based games for the system. Players control a flamethrower-equipped Ripley as she eats dots (actually, she's clearing her ship of Alien eggs) while dodging three Alien creatures that roam the maze. The game has solid controls, fast gameplay, and two monotony-reducing features: prizes to collect and Freeway-like bonus rounds in which players must run up a playfield filled with aliens. The only real drawback to the game (other than its derivative nature) is its cartoonish depiction of the alien creatures. However, given the graphical limitations of the system, this weakness is understandable. <!--Book-->
