Engraved by Anthony de Winter. Lovely late 17th century antique engraved map. At top left off the coast of China is the island of Taiwan. Lower left is Borneo with extensive mountainous terrain within the interior.Decorative strapwork cartouches accentuate the map's visual appeal. Nice example, overall clean, well preserved. Original fold line as issued. Sheet measures c. 8 1/2" x 12". Printed area measures c. 8" H x 10 1/2". Tooley's Dictionary of Mapmakers, vol. 4, p. 102-04. Not found in Koeman, Atlantes Neerlandici (indeed, no cartographic production by van Ravestein is found).”
