As far as the shipping price, it could've been sent cheaper by using post offices "box system". If the item fits into the box it can be sent. To the vendor, you might try this to help customers save on shipping. I should note, that I'm one of those people who doesn't like any type of shipping though. Not necessarily vendors fault, that's just who I am.
