At just 5.3 ounces, the DuraXT is easy to hold. It has a dedicated numeric keypad with soft keys and a D-pad to make navigating the screen quick and easy. The display is 2 inches and has a pixel resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. The display on the front of the phone is 1 inch and has a 96 x 64 pixel resolution. This front display shows the time, any new messages, and the battery status. This rugged phone is MIL-STD-810 certified, meaning it adheres to military standards and is resistant to water, shock, vibration, extreme temperatures, and high humidity levels.The hardware on this Kyocera DuraXT cellphone includes a Qualcomm QSC6085 system chip. It does support storage expansion with a microSD or a microSDHC card. The 1360 mAh replaceable lithium-ion battery provides up to 8 hours of talk time, so you can expect this phone to get you through the day. A loudspeaker complete with noise-canceling technology lets you hear your calls clearly. A headphone jack also allows you to plug in a headset and talk if you are working in a noisy area. The Kyocera DuraXT also has a silent mode and vibration notification so that you can know when you have incoming calls without interrupting a meeting.
