Wounaan weaver Cristina Negria Teucama is one of the most celebrated artists of Wounaan woven art. She lives in a small community on the outskirts of Panama City, alongside some other villagers who have left the remoteness of the Darien Rainforest in order to be closer to amenities offered by proximity to the city. The handmade basket is very sought after as sometimes these baskets takes years to make. This is a medium small basket that is tan in color with a dark green design that looks like bear claw marks. Very interesting indeed. Made in 1999. It stands about 5 inches and the width is approximately 6 inches. If you are a collector or just like quality, this is the basket for your design.
