I can manually focus some of my old lenses with this split prism. It does not make the viewfinder too dim or interfere with anything. It can still be a challenge to achieve perfect focus but this is a real help, as there is a small difference between the split screen in focus alignment and what the camera sees.. The image in the center prism portion is clear and easy to see.

Came in half the time indicated by eBay, received as described in the ad. Note to buyers, this is a back plate replacement for your efs lens. You have to take the existing plate off then put this one on using screws provided.
