Besides fixing the LEDs going out, it fixed the brightness inconsistency it was having. The original strips are plastic front and back, these are metal. I believe the plastic film behind the original strips is an insulator to keep them from accidentally shorting out. I used a heat gun on 560 F setting and a CLEAN pain scraper to separate the 2 and not damage the plastic film. (I found 460-480 F caused me to be more aggressive with the scraper than I really should.)

LED Strips worked to fix purple-blue screen, however I unknowingly flipped the diffuser screens over allowing the white LEDs to shine thru on scenes of the sky. To fix I disassembled the TV and flipped the screens back, but cracked the edge of the LCD screen in the process. NOTE: Be EXTREMELY careful with the thin, fragile LCD screen (I thought I was, but not enough)! So my TV is now being scrapped.
