The controller works but its pretty dirty and the packaging was for the controller itself was rather poor since its wrapped with kitchen plastic wrap

Not sure if you read the description. It clearly states that the remote needed cleaning. It was not wrapped in kitchen wrap. It was wrapped in packing wrap to keep the cords from moving and placed in a bubble wrapped envelope. The item arrived securely to you.
