Clare, your lovely Beswick jug arrived Thursday -- what a splendid piece it is! The famous Mr Symcox and his confreres at Beswick managed to capture the wan sunlight and almost limpid air of the English countryside, giving us a vision in bands of fields that a feudal era peasant might have looked upon across a sequence of small holdings, stretching away to the horizon.
