It discusses the relevance of equipment to funds such as the Social Fund and the Independent Living Fund, how 1992 changes in legislation are expected to change the existing mobility allowance and provides a separate chapter on the issue of need, assessment and complaints. As in the first edition, flow charts are provided in each section of the book showing how the system of provision works and covers local practice in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, using relevant examples. The book is fully indexed, now containing a greater number of equipment entries and also includes a directory of manufacturers and suppliers.
