For my situation, I only needed the black portion of the lamp assembly - the portion that holds the bulbs and has the connector port to the electricity. (The connector port on my other one was damaged and missing a 'pin'). Worked fine as soon as it was plugged in : It just needed new bulks - which I had already bought just in case because I assumed the bulbs could be old. Happy camper here
