I never use dryer sheets to store items. This item was purchased wholesale direct from manufacturer and came sealed in a single use plastic bag. I only opened the bag to photograph and placed into a new bag for storage. I never used any kind of freshener either. My only guess is the buyer is sensitive to a scent inherent in the plastic or from manufacture. In any case I hope a good wash and/or airing out helps!!!
