I have a pair of these, so I’m able to compare them side-by-side. These are not authentic Kuru shoes. There is no cushion in the soles.

What I want to clarify is that currently you cannot buy a pair of counterfeit KURU products in the market because KURU does not have counterfeit products. If you think it's just because of the difference in foot feel when trying it on, then I think it's normal because no pair of shoes in the world are exactly the same. I think you will feel more authentic after wearing it for a few days. In fact, if you have the same model, there is not much difference between them.
