Although my planned twin-battery (ie 12v & 24v) array will be switch-selectable between Series24v & Parallel12v, I'll feel less at risk of fire with the protection that said diode offers eg in the event of relay-failure.

'Haven't got round to replicating my experimental 'off-grid m'wave' arrangement with a permanent installation (in my makeshift RV). But when I do, it'll be reassuring that (say) relay-malfunction will be tolerated better lest short-circuits occur or poles be crossed.
