Der AVM FRITZBox Fon WLAN 7112 125 Mbps 1-Port 10/100 Wireless G Router misst 123x125x31 mm und wiegt 558 g inkl. Verpackung. Das Gerät verfügt über einen 10/100er LAN Anschluss und WLAN, welche WEP, WPA und WPA2 mit Geschwindigkeiten von bis zu 125 Mbps unterstützt. Als besonders geeignet erweist sich der AVM/FRITZ Router für die Internettelefonie VoIP. Zwei analoge Endgeräte wie Telefon, Fax oder Anrufbeantworter können ebenfalls an den AVM FRITZBox Fon WLAN 7112 angeschlossen werden. Dafür sind zwei TAE Buchsen vorgesehen. Neben einem DSL Anschluss und einem WLAN Access Point verfügt der AVM/FRITZ Router außerdem über einen Netzwerkanschluss durch eine RJ45-Buchse (Standard-Ethernet, 10/100 Base-T). Ein Wireless Distribution System ist in das Gerät integriert. Durch diese Technik kann man den Router als WDS Repeater verwendet werden. Dadurch wiederum wird die Reichweite Ihres WLAN Netzes vergrößert.
