Developed by Paul Rudolph for Zeiss, the Zeiss Planar lenses are among the first to almost perfectly correct the cushion effect. This is an effect that takes place when your lens distorts the photo, causing the image to become pinched in the center. Named for the action that takes place when a pin is pushed into a pin cushion, the cushion effect replicates the pulling of the fabric when the image is distorted. To correct the cushion effect, the Hasselblad CF 120mm f/4 EX CF lens manipulates focal length to smooth out an image so it displays as the human eye would see it. This Hasselblad CF 120mm f/4 EX CF lens includes six elements inside the lens. The six elements are in four groups arranged symmetrically to the iris diaphragm, reducing distortion while capturing beautiful out-of-focus backgrounds. These bokeh-type images are used for portraits, styled photography shoots, landscapes, etc. Specifically designed for the Hasselblad, the CF f/4.0 EX CF lenses are multi-coated, providing greater resistance to flare. The 120mm lens is ideal for close-up work, delivering an optimum image correction at close-up range. Photos shot with the Hasselblad will be razor-sharp with little to no pixilation.
