Truly delighted A++ 5th June - In this tiny island of Guernsey we have just held a service to commemorate and remember Canadian pilot Flt Lt John Walton Saville, who following a successful bombing raid, was shot down on 5th June 1944 by the Germans who occupied this island throughout WWII. We will never forget those brave Canadian boys who came to our aid when they were most needed. Also remembering those Canadians who sent badly needed Red Cross food parcels in 1944 when we were starving.
