Gibt es keine Gesetze, die auf Rechten beruhen, kann es auch kein geregeltes Leben geben. In dieser Arbeit soll Recht eine wichtige Rolle spielen, wahrend der Gesetzesbegriff nur hintergrundig zum Tragen kommt. Die Begriffe Gesetz und Recht scheinen zunachst eine ahnliche Bedeutung aufzuweisen, jedoch kann diese noch differenziert werden. Wahrend es ein geschriebenes Gesetz gibt, welches Subsumtionen und Sanktionen verordnet, gilt ein mundlich tradiertes Recht, das Normen und Werte vorgibt. Gesetze regeln, was im Recht bereits vorhanden ist. Es besteht also eine fortwahrende Wechselwirkung zwischen Leben und Recht (beziehungsweise Gesetz), die im jeweiligen Rechtssystem zum Tragen kommt. Verandert sich das Leben der Menschen, verandern sich dadurch auch ihre Rechte und umgekehrt. Wie greift das Recht aber nun in das Leben der Menschen, vor allem in das eines einzelnen Individuums ein? Welche Unterschiede gibt es dabei zwischen verschiedenen Gesellschaftsklassen und - standen? Heinrich von Kleists Der zerbrochne Krug ist ein Beispiel fur die Intervention des Rechts in einem bestimmten Rechtssystem und dessen unterschiedliche Auswirkungen auf die Rechtsmitglieder dieses Systems. In dieser Arbeit sollen die einzelnen Figuren und ihre Beziehung untereinander und zum Recht analysiert und miteinander in Verbindung gebracht werden.
