This album is a masterpiece. It checks all the right boxes: It arrived in the midst of that “second British Invasion” that captivated me in my most formative GenX years. It’s Post Punk meets New Wave, with just a dash of Goth for good measure. “The Killing Moon” manifested itself as Ian McCulloch wrote his lyrics to David Bowie’s “Space Oddity”… played backwards.
Manna from Heaven.
When you channel the alien energy of The Starman, you create nothing short of Transcendental Perfection.
