Das Objektiv ist dabei für die Verwendung mit einer 35-mm-Vollformat-Kamera oder einem Camcorder mit Super-35-Format gedacht. Die Brennweite beträgt 28 bis 135mm. Asphärische Elemente sowie eine Mehrfachbeschichtung sorgen für eine Unterdrückung von Abbildungsfehlern. Für den geräuscharmen Betrieb sorgt das SSM-Antriebssystem und ermöglicht genaue und leise Zoombewegungen. Dieses E-Mount-Objektiv verfügt über unabhängige Steuerungsringe für Zoom, Fokus und Blendenöffnung mit mechanischen Stufen. Die integrierte Bildstabilisierungstechnik Optical SteadyShot steigert die Leistung dieses Objektivs, welches ein konstantes 1:4 unterstützt, noch weiter.
