Synopsis
Gerald McCarthy enlisted in the Marines at 17 and volunteered for Vietnam. After the war he went AWOL, then to civilian jails and military brigs and finally to a Navy psychiatric ward, where he witnessed patient-attempted suicides. Medically discharged, he returned home to upstate New York and piecework in shoe factories. Written in two voices--one lucid, one dreamlike--his memoir delivers a jump-cut narrative of his troubled adolescence, his wartime experiences and his struggle to come unstuck from his own life., Gerald McCarthy enlisted in the Marines at 17 and volunteered for Vietnam. - w***4 (1009)- Feedback left by buyer.Past monthVerified purchaseI just received the book and it is AMAZING! They show clear original and current floor plans with a timeline. A lot of work was put into it and the description and images are just beyond. I love architecture books that show entire floor plans, as it helps match the image and have a better sense of space. Highly recommend getting this book, as it is exceptional! Good if others would follow the example and include floor plans on their books, as it's annoying not to have it. thanks
