The part needs to be machined (to reduce the Boss diameter - marked "K") in order to fit perfectly the chuck no matter what could be its tolerances. So we avoid offset created by the addition of tolerances from each part. Provided the screws align, I don't have to worry about the axis alignment because the part can be rectified not only to fit the chuck but also the specific lathe I'm working with.
