The lumpiness is concerning though - there's a bulging spot in the center that makes me believe they cheaped out on the case, or it's just bad workmanship. However, for this price-point, it's hard to complain. It is shipped in a plastic tray with very little packaging, so I'm not certain it wasn't damaged in transit.

Unfortunately this speed controller does not work properly with PWM case fans so I could not use it for my SAS drive array as all my fans are PWM. I will use find a use for it in a different project with non-PWM fans.
