Lower grade aluminum but appears to be machined well and engraved. The "nylon abs" plastic guards are cheap and fragile. They both came with small cracks throughout the plastic. I didn't expect too quality but I also didn't expect such low grade materials. They are very light and won't help with vibration or offer much for protection but they do look nice and add flare to the bike.
