Item was unopened which would normally be a great thing but since it was old the batteries left inside had deteriorated. When that happens it severs the electrical connection and you have to apply wet baking soda to clean the battery acid. I did this and finally got it to work but the sound was still not great. I don’t really fault the seller but the information might help for similar items in future.
