It has expected wear - especially on the very bottom (last photo), plus warping of the top section and a naturally occurring crack in the bottom of the middle box section (photos #10 and #11). There are some small spots of missing lacquer and small surface scratches but these do not harm the integrity of the piece. It is not perfect, but is still quite beautiful. This old cherished box shows some history and age. PLEASE NOTE: Serious, knowledgeable lacquer wood collectors understand that old lacquer wood pieces (like this one) are made from natural materials/substances and often have expected wear and natural rich patinas from age and use. These characteristics give old lacquer wood pieces character and show/prove their age. If you are a beginning collector of old lacquerware - please be aware of the natural expected wear and rich patinas”
