I am a little disappointed as I thought this was going to be in pristine condition, but the inner sleeves are also split.

The item was packed well and safely however, I was super bummed to unpack it to see all the hand-crafted knots had slid off the top and bottom dowels. So, while the piece is salvageable, it will have to make do with my makeshift adjustments to make the piece functional again. This could have been prevented by putting stoppers at the dowel ends or taping the ropes at the ends of the dowels.
