I was a bit disappointed that is was lightly caked with old grease, as if it were displayed near an oven vent that recirculated into the kitchen instead of to the outside. I learned the downside of that when I had to clean the pieces my in-laws had displayed above their cabinets. Most of it came off when I soaked it in a tub of warm/hot Dawn detergent suds, so the bowl is fine. Kinda surprised that wasn't corrected before sale.
