The item was placed flat in the bottom of the box without padding, resulting in damage to the lower right corner, and breaking the front removable panel. Replacement cost for the removable panel alone is $77 from the Sony parts shop. On the positive side, the unit seems to work ok with the limited testing done this afternoon.
