Seller Notes: “306 year old history of the 17th century Catholic Diocese of Paderborn in Germany, in LATIN, bound ... “306 year old history of the 17th century Catholic Diocese of Paderborn in Germany, in LATIN, bound in VELLUM LEATHER, 6 1/2 by 8 1/8 in. under the direction of Prince Bishop Ferdinand von Furstenberg, with particular attention to ancient Roman, French, and Saxon monuments. This section has the frontispiece and portrait of Ferdinand loose of the binding but present. I'm unsure if any preliminaries are absent. Then a lengthy preface followed by 309 pages of text, fold out maps, and many images followed by addenda and index. Then bound in seems to be a separate piece entitled Panegyricus by Theodoro von Furstenberg, also in LATIN that is 133 numbered pages and an unpaginated index. Finally a third unpaginated piece is also included, dated 1683, that I believe is a tribute, in Latin to Ferdinand von Furstenberg upon his death. Tight binding, a few interior pages seem to have a damp stain across bottom corner of page but otherwise very impressive for 300 plus years. Some soiling to boards”
