The underside is rough and hard to look at. Even though you can cover it partially with the rain tray the nasty 2-4" of edges are still visible. I ended up smoothing it out and painting it so it at least looks presentable. I wish someone made a version of this that the top and bottom have a glossy finish. Apparently they are all made by Anderson composits.
